Pee Wee Martial Arts Programs - Lil' Dragons ages 4-6
Martial Arts helps children learn focus and discipline while having fun with our Lil' Dragon programs, and James Walker's Bushido Academy is proud to be a part of it. We are catching kids early and teaching children from ages 4 to 6 how to respect their bodies as well as their parents and teachers.
They learn to kick out disrespect and lack of discipline while learning important life skills such as stranger awareness, anti-drugs, health, nutrition, and exercise. According to the Journal of the American Medical
Association, almost 30% of our youth are involved in bullying situations and roughly 5-10% suffer from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Our programs address these issues head-on by providing children a whole life approach to making choices that effect both their mental and physical health. The best part is no one sits on the bench. Everyone is included. The Lil’ Dragons programs catch all kids early and helps them develop terrific life skills that will make them not only a better citizen but a healthier one as well.

James Walker's Bushido Academy of Karate & Kobudo is proud to spearhead the fight to keep our youth smart and off the streets. We offer our youth an alternative full of promise and safety while instilling life skills such as discipline, respect for authority, and even leadership skills required in today's professional world. Children's Martial Arts Programs - Youth Martial Arts Leadership Program ages 7-12Leadership is not only about having other follows directions, but it’s about communicating with people and building relationships—a leader is worthless by
him/herself. Our 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and 21 Laws of Leadership curriculum give our students the tools they need to not only succeed in life, but to have the strength all leaders need when confronted with hard choices. With these skills in place, our students can make wise decisions about college and their educational activities. Throughout the program we teach the following traditional katas and wazas (as well as their associated bun kai--interpretation in application): Pinan Shodan Pinan San Dan Pinan Yandan Pinan Godan Once a youth earns the rank of Brown Belt (4th Kyu), he/she is promoted to the adult class no matter their age. By this time in their training we are certain of their ability to defend themselves and conduct themselves responsibly. |

'I come to you with only empty hands; I have no weapons. But should I be forced to defend myself, my principles, or my honor, should it be a matter of right or wrong, or life or death, then here are my weapons, my empty hands.'
Do you think you're too old to learn something new? Too old to learn something as life-defining and life-building as Martial Arts? Our oldest student is 65 years old! You are never too old to study Martial Arts, because it's not just about physicality--Martial Arts is about how you face life. It is a discipline that can help even the most timid individual square his/her shoulders and meet the world "head on." The study of Martial Arts gives you a sense of peace and confidence as well as physical soundness you cannot find elsewhere. The fact that karate is a martial art is secondary to all else you can potentially gain from its study. After all, most of us study Martial Arts so we don't have to fight!

Adult Martial Arts Programs - Adult Martial Arts Leadership Program age 13+
Adults, perhaps more than even youth, understand the need for maturity and accountability. The workplace runs like a well-oiled machine when
everyone has respect for one another and they can work as a team. And what happens when the workplace is rampant with disrespect, un-professionalism, and backbiting? Our Adult Leadership Program teaches our students how to rise above these immature displays. We give them the tools they need to excel and shine, standing out as promising and dependable professionals. This professionalism is taught in such a way that it becomes second nature. Our adults learn that they can excel without stepping on their coworkers—they learn that to earn
respect, they must offer it first.
Throughout our adult program we teach the traditional katas and wazas (as well as their associated bunkai--interpretation in application).
As students become black belts (1st Dan and above), they also gain knowledge of the basic skeletal system, the basic muscular system, & the
12 major meridians.
